Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to This Happy House! I hope you all had a great weekend; I know I definitely did! This Happy House headed to Pittsburgh for the weekend so I could run the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Half Marathon. It is one of the largest marathons in the country and it definitely did not disappoint!
To kick off the weekend, Friday my husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary, and Saturday my brother met us to run the race with me. The weather was definitely awful on Saturday, but fortunately it cleared up Sunday and made for perfect running weather! If you’ve never been to Pittsburgh, it is an absolutely gorgeous city! There are over 2,000 bridges in the city, and we go to run across 3 of them. Beautiful views of a beautiful city on a perfect spring day! It is also crazy hilly, which makes for a super challenging race course!
This was my fourth half marathon, and definitely the most memorable! Not only was it a great crowd with 30,000 runners and thousands of spectators and entertainment, but this year I also got to run for a reason! I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society team this year. As a team we raised over $50,000! Definitely some extra motivation for race day!
I am officially a RUNNER OF STEEL!!!
Now that we are home, it’s time to get caught up on work and rest these tired legs!
What’s Going on at This Happy House
This week I am going to be bringing you all a recap of my No Frills 7 Day Clean Eating Adventure. Look for some parenting tips later in the week, too! I am also working on a kitchen feature and continuing on with the Spring Cleaning Series.
Thanks again for stopping by the House, I hope you all have a great week! And as always, feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com with any feedback you may have, or just to say ‘hi!’
